History: Trieka was born to a couple that was barely able to survive in the wastes of Pandora. After only a few hours with their newborn, they realized something; the girl had light milky blue eyes. She was blind. Unable to care for her already, and fearing that she would only suffer a slow and painful death over many years, they decided to leave her out in the open the next time they heard a traveling bandit group coming. They abandoned her in fear of their guilt only growing over time.
But as fate would have it, when she was abandoned, it wasn’t to a group of bandits looking for blood. The group was a traveling pack of Nomads.
The Nomads took the baby girl and gave her a name- Trieka. They called themselves the Yarja in honor of their special skill; the Nomads bred and raised magnificent and powerful eagles. They existed in peace with their birds, training them to take down any threat that came their way. They had a symbiotic relationship with the birds, and a very peaceful existence in equilibrium with the planet.
Trieka grew up as a happy girl, as happy as possible on Pandora. While the Nomads had little technology, they did have a very tight bond like family. Trieka had no designated parents; the entire group raised her. She grew up athletic and helpful, and finally when she was fourteen, a new eagle was born- the one to be her partner for life. She named the bird Oari, and as they both grew, they became completely synchronized in almost everything.
Trieka trained to use a bow; with no mechanical weapons along the Yarja, it was easiest for her. They taught her to use a recurve bow, and with Oari’s help, she could shoot targets from far away. Oari would select the target, circle in, and at the right moment give a signal cry to Trieka to fire. So she was able to hunt and defend herself in the wastelands, along as she didn’t run into anyone wielding a gun.
Trieka never resented her biological parents for leaving her; instead she relished the happiness that she got from the Nomads and the birds that she grew up with. Still, she did want to learn more about the planet and the world around her.
When she lost her best friend Haua, she finally had to leave. She needed to find herself. So she set out on her own to live and learn, travel, and just be. She and Oari are best friends and have never been apart since the bird hatched. She always feels connected to the Nomads, will visit periodically, and is grateful to have the life she has, however hard.
