This is both for my own personal use and to do some advertising for the artists out there who deserve it.
I've commissioned a LOT of artists and had some pretty good experiences AND some pretty bad experiences. Whenever I provide art in exchange for money, art, items, credits, what have you, I always try to provide the best experience I can- communication, updates, and a proper attitude. These artists listed here have been more than enjoyable to work with, and I can happily recommend them! :)
Nat has been one of my closest friends since 2004- more than half of my life. We've known each other since the absolute beginnings of our hobbies, including when we both began to take paid work. We met on NEOPETS if you can believe it! We grew up together, so if you’ve noticed that our styles look nearly identical, that’s not a coincidence. It’s because we learned togather. :) Nat is a jack of all trades- she draws humans, animals in both quad and anthros, props, backgrounds, you name it! AND, she also sews! You can find lots of cool stuff on her page, even fursuit partials and costume props.
Strengths: Versatility, background work, crafting media
Camille is a friend of mine who has a lot of experience with her painterly style. Camille loves using bright colors and different brushes, and can draw a huge variety of body types as well. She can do it all; illustration, design, tattoos, backgrounds, you name it. Her work can be as simple or as complex as it needs to be, and she can truly capture emotion with expressions and lighting. Her poses are also varied as heck, so her YCHs are always a treat.

I have been commissioning Avi for over a decade! We actually worked on a web comic for a spell with me writing and her drawing it. She lives in Poland! She is such a sweet person, and she works incredibly hard- even working on published comics. You can often find her work floating around on a Kickstarter or two. Avi mostly draws humanoid art with a lot of fantasy and sci-fi mixed in, but she is not afraid to try other types of subjects- like animals and furry art. Because she is so busy all the time you may have to wait for a response, but her work and her process is always worth it.
Strengths: Comic pages, different styles, character design
Fluffy is an artist of immeasurable skill. I want her to design all my characters. Whenever I think of a detail, a prop, a design element- Fluffy makes it better. Fluffy thinks of all the things that you forgot to think about- those little details in the hair and armor, the personality of the character, even tattoo designs. No wonder she’s worked for Disney before. She does NOT half ass things- she takes such pride in her work and it absolutely shows. Her lineart is stunning and detailed and her colors are gentle and fantastical. Plus, she is knowledgeable about a TON of fandoms, from K-Pop to video games to cartoons, so if your request happens to fall in one, she will be able to help! And trust me, she can bring out your character’s personality like you’ll never even expect!
Strengths: Details, expressions, going the whole extra mile
Aizehn has a very unique style! They also have a lot of options for their commissions, making them very affordable. Their communication is very good, and they’re very realistic about deadlines and availability. This artist is also one who specializes in mostly humanoid art, but lately has been branching out into other types of subjects! I don’t know if I’ve ever seen more detailed shading in my whole life, and their lighting and color work is unparalleled. I commission them every chance I get!

I've followed Ifus since I was a literal child. She used to be on DeviantArt, and like all of us, hopped platforms as we all matured. It was a while before I could commission her, but boy she is WORTH IT. I've gotten several badges from her! Her attention to detail is great, and you simply cannot beat how gosh darn friendly she is. I love working with her, and while she is on the pricier side of custom art (and WORTH it), I will always continue to save up to commission more. She is one of my all time favorite artists! Especially for badges!!
Strengths: Organization, badges, close ups
I've commissioned this artist a few times now and while their detailed scenes are incredible, I had to showcase their most unique offering. And that is the rubberhose/Cuphead style they do. They caught my eye by doing these old timey styled versions of Souls/Bloodborne/Elden Ring bosses and characters, and the way they translate these characters into such a unique style is insane. They aren't afraid to tackle detailed designs, that is for damn sure, and they handle full scenes well. After a few very positive projects, I'm happy to add them to this list and come back for more!
